The Artist

Hi there I am 33 years old. I have Autism and an expressive language disorder. Both of which have helped me to view the world in an amazing and unique way. I love being creative. I use all different resources to create my artworks. I work with acrylic paint, watercolour paints and pastels. My main focus is with fabric. I use fabric to create textile art, bags, wallets, toys, clothing and quilts.

I spend most of my time volunteering with children. I help run a playgroup through my church which is a lot of fun.

The thing I love most is making a mess while being creative. Amazing things can come from the the biggest mess.

Artist Statement

I made this painting using acrylic paint on a wooden board. I created this painting as a way to show my family how important they are to me. My family have supported me through out my whole life. They have helped me to become a  more confident person. But they have also accepted me with all of my quirky ways and love me all the same.

I love bright colours, they help bring a smile to my face. Just like my family who help to lift my spirits. That is why I chose to use the bright colours in the background. I love painting. It has become and outlet for all of my anxiety and stress. A way to help me express my feelings.
