I have always enjoyed painting and drawing from a young age. In 2014 I was diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia which is a neurological movement disorder by 2018 it had progressed to Generalised Dystonia which includes my hands. So painting and drawing is something I cherish as I am lucky to be able to still hold a brush or pen.
Early this year I found a kindness rock in a tree stump. I was hooked. Painting little artworks for other people to find and treasure in now my new hobby. So if you are ever in Hervey Bay you may be lucky and find one of my rocks.
I like painting in various mediums. I have experimented using canvas, paper, wood, pottery and most recently rock.
I like the challenge of painting on rock. As you need to adapt yourself to the rocks texture, shape, size and colour as no two rocks are the same.
I have only been painting kindness rocks for a few months and enjoy the opportunity to experiment with different styles and techniques. I use a mixture of acrylic paint pens and watercolour markers which create a vintage and retro vibe to my artwork. Each artwork is unique and offers the finder excitement and enjoyment. Money can't buy the look on people faces it is priceless.
