I am a single mother, full time law student, on Revolutionary Assistance Dogs Inc. Committee Board. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, ADHD, and Complex PTSD at 26 years old. To help with my daily living I have an Assistance Dog, Buddha, who is a 4 year old German Shepard x Rottweiler x Labrador. My two daughters, Isabelle aged 5 and Summer aged 2, are the centre of my world and are the sole reason I continue my journey through life. My art depicts the joys of my life that help pull me through dark times of my illnesses. It brings me to a place of tranquility and mindfulness, where my whole being is at peace with itself, as still as a lake on a summer day with the suns rays lighting up the water.
I work with oil on canvas of a moment in time where I see peace before my eyes. My inspiration of my art is my two daughters, Isabelle [5] and Summer [2], to which my life is centred around. In the chaos of life and young children, I capture the moments where they are still, calm, happy, and at peace with themselves. These moments, as my daughters are in a mindfulness state of being, it influences me to also be calm and peaceful, to cherish that moment and be completely present with the world around me. My art is created at my home, on my kitchen bench, with my daughters running around laughing while they play. This for me is my happy place where my mind is most creative.
