Artist Kelsy Landwehr - I am 25 years of age and live in Warrnambool, Victoria. I access Studio A, studio at the Fproject a local artist hub. I have been painting and illustrating since I was a young girl.
Mediums I use are oil and watercolour paints, pen illustrations and photography. I spend a lot of my time in nature, in the garden, bush and at the beach. I find delicate creatures and replicate their beauty in my paintings and illustrations. I also love painting seascapes and landscapes and I am inspired by my time visiting my hometown in Penshurst, Victoria- at the gardens, Mount Rouse and Yatmerone Wildlife Reserve .
I love photographing local nature spots around Port Fairy, Tower Hill and along the Warrnambool coastline and transferring my images into artwork.
I have a current Instagram account kelsylandwehr.
The artist would like to acknowledge the Peek Whuurong people that lie within the Maar (Gundidjitmara) nation. The artist would like to acknowledge the rich culture and history of ‘Tower Hill’ where this echidna (weelankeel) was located. We can be leaders by respecting and acknowledging the traditional custodians and all coming together to stand strong on ‘Climate Change’. Our native Australian wildlife depend on us to take the ‘LEAD’ to create change and protect their habitat to ensure their survival. Human population growth is also having a massive impact on our wildlife and their habitats. The conservation of our native animals and Global Warming needs to be our priority now.
