Bargains

Peggy Bogar

Bargains

By

Peggy Bogar

A poem about the trials of working in retail.

Stocktaking June sales
Were my defeat.

Blistered, red raw
And very sore
Were my feet!

Gently bathed
Cooled and soothed,
With ointment anointed
Tenderly appointed.

Relief was given
To my poor
RED FEET.

To which recovery
Will be fully expected
In time for
End of year……
Yes….you guessed it.
